How to Attract New Patients Using QR Coding

QR Code
The dental industry has grown tremendously and the demand of dental services in some areas is competitive as dentists are trying to attract more new patients in their practices. This level of competition has led to different practices to administer different marketing methods to get more dental patients.

One of the method dentists can use in marketing dental practices is QR coding. QR Coding are those black and white squares which are mostly used in storing URLs or any information that can be accessed by any mobile phone user. In other words QR coding is an abbreviation of “Quick Response Codes”. These codes can be generated easily using web programs (there several web programs that you can use).

There are a number of ways you can use QR codes in dental practice marketing. But because many people are not aware of QR code marketing, they haven’t been able to use this method of marketing. With QR codes you can give patients more information about you and your practice by simply linking it to your website of your practice. Or you can direct them to your Facebook page. Linking them with a video of you gives patients the opportunity to get more information and experience your personality.

You don’t need to connect QR codes with just web address but you can link them with phone numbers, texts email address and contact information that will help you to make an instant connection with patients. Some patients are likely to book an appointment or make a call to your practice if you can include a QR code in your direct mail and direct advertising.

All the special promotions, information videos, health tips that you use for marketing to prospective patients could use of QR codes which directs them to these pages.  We’ve already seen that QR codes can be generated free using online programs and therefore it should not be a big-up front expense. And when using these codes, think where you have to place them. It is an addition to a quality marketing message, and doesn’t replace it.

Not every patient knows what QR codes are and what to do with them. Give patients clear instructions and clear call to action.

The end result of using a QR code is to give patients real value if they scan. It could be an offer or the ability to schedule an online appointment; it’s worth their effort. Many people are using mobile phones to search for information they are looking for on the internet and using QR codes, you’ll have made things easier for mobile patients.

The use of QR codes in marketing dental services is just one way of targeting mobile phone users and therefore, they should not replace your address and phone number in your print ads. I might have only scratched the surface but I believe you get the idea on how you can use QR codes to attract new dental patients.
